At long last we are on the final arc of season one. Campmas! Episodes 11 and 12!The Yurus are finally all going camping TOGETHER! This is Rin's first time properly group-camping, and Ena's first time camping at all! Let's have a laid-back time, yurubros
All previous rewatch breads>>290606658 (ena bday)>>290855593 (ep1)>>291020782 (ep2&3)>>291177848 (ep4&5)>>291334321 (ep6&7)>>291486385 (ep8)>>291642406 (ep9&10)A shame that the last two did not hit both bump and image limits, I hope that's not a sign of intrest dying down. I think, honestly, that the previous three episodes were the weakest of the season with not that much to really talk about. (Not to say they're bad! They're not!) But now we're in the proper finale arc of the season and hopefully all the anons will come out of the woodwork to post post post!
For some reason I always thought this campsite was the same as the second and third episode one. I guess it just looked really similar, being a FEILD campsite
Everything the light touches is Rin's campsite
I have had quite the day. Indirect fallout from the PHP situation. So I haven't even had a chance to watch comfy camping girls yet. I need to get /fit/ with Nadeshiko to blow off some steam and then I am going to watch these girls have a Christmas camp while I make and eat some dinner.>>291783289I don't think interest has waned. Mine hasn't. It's okay with the threads don't hit bump limits every time. If anything, I think people might post more if the previous thread wasn't being kept alive for the entire week. Distance making the heart grow fonder and all that.
>>291784440And yet with Nadeshiko she's most interested in where the sun doesn't shine.... Curious.
>>291785432How did PHP affect you, personally, anon?
>>291783194What episode(s) are we watching next week?
>>291786682Next week, I propose that instead of starting s2, we watch the s1 OVAs>Heya Camp - 12 2.5m episodes following a little adventure the OAC go on>3 specials, one longer one and two shorter onesThese together add up to roughly the runtime of 2 normal episodesThere is also>a special ova that's basically an ad for a specific type of motorcycleBut I'm not sure if that's from s1 or s2. Guess it doesn't really matter
>>291787624I guess I'll have to figure out what those are and make sure I have them.
>>291788640The look like this
>>291790338Look at them go!
/wip/ friends, are you here?
I thought Aoi looked especially cute in this scene for some reason.

>>291801838>Toba-sensei not in the fantasy because she died of liver failure, and Chiaki's on her way
I like the detail that they all arrived earlier despite stating 2 o'clock because they were all excited- Rin included
It's also very fitting that Rin got to spend some time alone with Nadeshiko before the others arrived. Probably helped ease her into group camping. Also it's very fitting that she set up her tent away from everyone else. It wasn't intentional, but it gave her a place to retreat to when it came time to sleep

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE NADESHIKOTHE ASSASSIN IS AFTER YOU
This scene was also really good for Rin's growth. As this anon >>291792273 said, maybe Ena sent Nadeshiko off to play with the doggey so Rin could connect with the other two OAC members more easily. And they did bond, first over their shared jealousy of Ena's big expensive sleeping bag, then again when she got to show off her gear to other camping enthusiasts and see theirs aswell. Rin has no idea that Aki was inspired directly by her grandpa to get that skillet! Dramatic irony! But it was a nice scene of them getting to know eachother in a very on-brand wayI want to cuddle ena while inside her sleeping bag with her
And it flows nicely into the next scene where they get to have some proper group camping fun! Playing with a frisby is not something you can really do on your own, unless you're doing gay ass frisby golf like some liberal arts college man-bun hippie full-sleeve tattoo wonderwall guitar "I can't wait to have a conversation with you" gay ass faggot retard literal cuckholdAnywaysRin gets to do something she's never been able to do on a camp trip before
Which Yuru is the strongest poker player? >Nadeshiko has all the luck>Rin has her signature poker face>Aoi is a professional liar>Ena has schemes within schemes>Chiaki lmao
It would have been nice for this to have been animated more, thoughever. I feel like the season finale isn't really the right place to "cheap out" and do still frames of action, but this is a pretty minor complaint when the rest of the arc is as good as it is
>>291805329I think Aoi clears just because of her natural bluffing talent and skill. Nadeshiko would get good hands with her luck, but she'd give it away immediately with her big silly smile and the others would just always fold whenever she goes c:

I really like how they seem to have bonded with their teacher/advisor over this trip. Some naked time and taking care of her when she's drunk really seems to have brought them all together.
Gonna doomp the rest of my ep 11 stitches. I'm done working on ep 12, but I've got to rename them before I can post them, so that'll take a bit. I've gotten it down to where I basically just use a couple of macros to auto go through them and just type the numbers in and it works fine. I'm not smart enough to do anything more complicated than that
What did Ena mean by this?
>>291809695I think what's more is that they understood immediately that she's into camping just as much as they are. Especially when they found out that she's been camping since she was a kid. It's not like she's some know-nothing teacher who's just there because she has to be. She has her own equipment, she WANTS to be there with them, she's a yuru through and through. Even if she's a bit of a drunk lmao. She's also very hands-off and didn't ever try to prevent them from doing anything they wanted to do while there. Basically, she became one of the girls during the trip, so it felt very natural of an addition
>>291809793It's simple, she enjoyed camping and wants to get into the hobby some more! They pulled this same trick with Nadeshiko in the early eps. One of the first things she did was browse a bivouac magazine when she joined the OAC. Now, Ena having her first taste of it, does the same! Great subtle writing
Brutal comparison.

One last reminder that this is a dog anime before the season ends.
One last Shimamommy.
One last classy grandpa.
>>291809929One more thing I love about the finale is how it feels "complete" but still leaves tons of room for what comes next. They had their group camp, we saw several different types of camping across the season, but it doesn't just end like that. The girls are already looking forward to more camping, not just next year, but even before that on new years eve, too. Rin's already thinking about her next solo, Nadeshiko and Ena are getting temp jobs so they can buy more gear and camp more, Aki is working on a scheme to get Ena roped into the club, Aoi is spending new years with me, her boyfriend, etc. Etc. It leaves ample room for growth. Even though it can be considered a whole package as one season, and infact some anons watching now have only seen season one, what comes next is a perfect continuation. Can't wait to get into s2 properly in a couple of weeks time
Rin is so fvckin cool>>291802389The power of a scooter

>>291791000Who stretched better?
>>291803409Well, we don't actually see every single campsite they ever go to presumably. If there are some small timeskips, like a month or so, it's probable that rin went solo camping then. I get that it's not "canon" but it definitely feels like something that would happen. And it is a perfect way to wrap up the seasonThat's all for my ep 11 stitches. Gonna rename and post the ep 12 tonight, then work on the collages for the arc. I'll try to be more on time in the future weeks, but I was catching up on seasonals this past week and also went to see spirited away in theaters. I want to make a thread to talk about it but I already have two threads active and need to make the mono one tomorrow!
>>291810171Who tented better?
>>291810201>>291810171Having both of these open at once was neat
>>291810169I totally agree. As much as I'd enjoy seeing every moment of every single day for these characters, not everything will make it into the manga or anime or live action or whatever else. And it was a very wonderful ending to the season. I loved everything about it. Importantly, we see that RIn is still solo camping. One group camp did not change her desire for a solo. But she doesn't see Nadeshiko at her planned solo camping trip and then quietly turn away either. She's glad to see Nadeshiko.
This reveal was so much fun. You almost know it's coming, but when it happens and Nadeshiko realizes...

Now that the dust has settled, what are your thoughts on the season as a whole?I'd love to hear especially from first time watchers who decided to come along on this yuru trip with us
For me, Yuru Camp is one of my all-time favorites and season one comes pretty damn close to perfect. There is just so much I love about it>the characters. Excellent designs for all of them that are balanced and complimentary. Their dynamics are amazing. Such great chemistry all around>the art is consistently beautiful. I particularly love the color palete. Not just the normal colored landscapes, but my favorites are the golden hour scenes, where everything is bathed in a warm glow>the music. Ohhhhhh man. The music is sublime. Perhaps among the best OSTs for a show ever. It just fits the anime so well and elevates it higher. That first episode where it was in full focus as Rin biked to the campsite was an instant fall-in-love moment>the story and character development over time, this season was really really good, but it is incomplete when you know where season two ends off for them (also why I view them more like a first and second cour) but basically, yeah, there is something really beautiful about learning to share what you love with others who also love it. Rin learned that lesson and began to grow as a person in this season. It's a really simple story and character arc, but that's exactly what the concept needs. It doesn't need anything complicated or high-minded or narratively deep.>the girls are, indeed, cute as buttons and they are doing many many cute thingsYuru Camp season one is a 9/10 for me. I try to avoid .5s in rankings, but I'd prolly give it a 9.5 lol. The only thing really holding it back is that I felt there were a few slightly weaker episodes towards the end, 8, 9, and 10. But again those weren't even bad. They just were a little bit dull compared to the arcs before and after.I love Yuru Camp so much it's unreal
Thanks for rewatching it with me, anonfriends. I was one of the first who was intrested in starting it and have been "running" the threads since. It's been a very enjoyable part of my week! I'm also happy we recently did the CITY and Hibimeshi rewatches, both shows I love dearly, and am happy we're rewatching mono, too. I'm looking forward to watching Yama no Susume when mono is done! And if we're feeling it, whatever else we want to watch afterwards >:3 the daily for the pengin anime got me thinking of rewatching sora yori mo tooi basho

Odd question but how do I get good at hiking? I want to be a cool outdoors person but I'm a 140kg otaku
>>291844112Consider hiking, to start
>>291844112By getting lighter and progressing to a slightly more difficult hike than the previous hike. I think Yama no Susume presents it quite well where Aoi starts from Mt. Tenran to eventually Mt. Fuji, though she attempts the final boss a bit too early and has to step back first.I don't think there's any specific technique either as long as you pace yourself properly and don't take stupidly long strides.

>>291846848Aoi is so pretty
>>291844112The good news is, if you're fat your legs are already really strong unless you've been completely bed-bound this whole time. You just need to lose the weight and you'll be in really excellent condition for climbing mountains. Your biggest issues will be joints. And joints take a lot longer to build up than muscles do.Something you can do immediately while sitting or lying down is strengthen your ankles. You can do simple rotations, slowly moving your ankles around at their full range of motion. Do them clockwise and then counterclockwise. Some people like to pretend their big toe is a pen and write the alphabet instead. Whatever works for you. Do these without any weight on them, just floating feet in the air and get your ankles used to activity. This will slowly, eventually, strengthen them and help keep them stable when hiking and prevent injury. You'll also want good footwear when hiking.Do calf raises. On your own body weight, just stand somewhere and then go up onto your toes. If you can start with your toes elevated above your heels (like hanging off the bottom step of some stairs), even better. Don't do too many to start, you will feel it later!Do a wall sit. Back straight, against the wall, feet out away from the wall, slowly move down until it's like you're sitting on an invisible chair with your knees at a 90 degree angle and hold it. Eventually, you can start doing squats but this is safer if you're overweight.Glute bridges. Absolutely essential. You must have a strong butt for knee safety.Work on your balance. Stand on one leg. Just lift the other slightly off the ground and balance for 30 seconds. Then do the other leg.Go walk a minimum of 30 minutes every single day, on flat terrain, working your way up to 60 minutes. If you can do 60 already, then great, do 60 every day. Go at a pace where you can comfortably talk and not be gasping for air. It's not a race.Once you're doing that, start with a slight incline. Work your way up.
>>291844218Stride length is the biggest killer. Keep it pretty short when going up or down any incline, no matter how gradual. You want to keep your center of gravity feeling very stable, not like you're falling forward as you move. You're walking, not lunging. Any sort of lunge or dynamic movement you do on a trail is a calculated risk and if you're inexperienced you don't know how to calculate that yet. Better to take things slow and be as safe as possible, and conserve your energy. Do the switchback up and down steeper areas. It looks silly but especially when you're carrying weight on you, it will protect your joints and it will use way less energy so you have the endurance to finish. When you're just walking around the neighborhood or indoors for an hour, you might not have a pack on you, but eventually as you're hiking you're going to want a pack. That's your extra layers for altitude or weather changes, that's your water, that's your food for the top at a vista, that's your first aid kit, etc. Start carrying this stuff on your nice flat 60 minute walks before you hit the mountains. Get used to the balance, making sure everything is comfortable. You want the weight on your hips not your shoulders. And make sure you're packing things like your rain coat at the top where it's most accessible.Don't be afraid to use trekking poles, too. They're good for balance, and weight distribution, particularly on steeper hills. And then if you do start hiking altitudes, be aware that weather can be unpredictable, and will not be the same as your starting point regardless. It may not be snowing up there, but it will be colder. Wool, windbreakers, etc. are all good ideas. And if you find yourself unprepared for what you're encountering, there is no shame in descending immediately and trying again another day. It's better to learn a lesson than get hypothermia.Good luck anon! >>291844112
>>291851395Nta but I'm a fat fuckMy legs are tree trunksThere's some fat on them but it's mostly muscle. Both my thighs and calves. All my weight is at my fat fuck gut and sides and ass. If I lose weight, my legs are probably still gonna be big as fuckI should get serious about my health and yamamaxx
>>291852160Yeah, for sure, you could be an amazing hiker, but your joints still need work even as you lose the weight, and you'll also need to build up endurance and balance. Walking around flat on the floor is different from hiking.Maybe when we start (re)watching Yama no Susume after Mono rewatches, we can get some /fit/ with Aoi going alongside /fit/ with Nadeshiko.

Sorry again for being so late on collages, I'm about to start working on them now!
I still don't understand what curry even is. I have curry powder though.
>>291859872I make curry with the big cubes you get from the supermarket, it's easier to think of it as a type of stew.
Missed this rewatch. Does it happen annually? Tell me about them
>>291860224This is ongoing. And it's the first time I'm aware of. Every Thursday we watch 1-2 episodes of Yuru Camp (or any time during the week, but we have a thread starting on Thursday). Over the last 7 Thursdays we have watched 12 episodes and had threads for them, but that's only season 1. Next Thursday we are watching the three season 1 OVAs, which combined are about as long as one full episode. We'll do a season 1 wrap-up discussion then too. The following Thursday we'll start on season 2. I'm not sure yet how many episodes the first week of season 2 will be, but we'll figure that out next Thursday in the S1 OVAs thread. We're going based on arcs, so as to avoid any cliffhanger endings, and arcs are generally 1 or 2 episodes long, usually 2. After season 2 and its OVAs, we'll watch season 3. And that will hopefully finish close to when season 4 is going to release. There's also Mono rewatches happening weekly one episode at a time on Saturdays, and we're planning to switch over to Yama no Susume right after that.Rewatch or watch for the first time, all are welcome. Catch up and join us.
>>291860394Dont forget about Heya Camp next week, too anonIt's 12 episodes of Heya Camp (the stamp rally) about 2m episodes each. This ontop of the 3 specials/ovasDo not confuse them with the heya camps that have already played during the ends of each episode. Those are different!
>>291860686Uh, not sure what is then, if it's not the Heya Camp we've been watching all along. Is it about a three-wheeler?
>>291861130Anon... have you never seen the stamp rally? The three wheeler is a separate "ad ova" that's obviously not "canon" but I'm gonna watch it anyways cause it's still campingHeya Camp is a 12 mini episode series where Aoi and Chiaki take Nadeshiko on a tour of Yamanashi and collect stamps from various places. They do this to get her to know her new home better... anon... how have you never watched this...https://myanimelist.net/anime/38476/Heya_Camp%E2%96%B3
>>291861751It's pretty easy to not watch given it's named confusingly and gets kind of buried in the other OVAs

>>291861789>>291861792Fair enoughMy batch came with it, so I have it, but even when I was a FILTHY STREAMER it appeared in the similar shows window while watching season oneIt's fun! I suggest you watch them!
I have gone fully overboard bros... 11 collages so far for the final arc and I'm not even done yet... i may have a problem... but I like them all so much!
>>291862297I welcome these.
>>291862281Alright, I have managed to get ahold of all 16 of the things we are watching for this coming Thursday. I have seen some of it before but not all of it, apparently.

I love these next twoThey remind me so much of hibi meshi, for obvious reasons
I couldn't fit both the food reactions and the cooking in one collage, so I split it between two using the same rough layout. Hopefully I didn't goof up the aspect ratio and make them too different

Good morning anons*YAAAAWWWNNNN*
And that was that for the campmas trip. A couple more here at the end. Felt like I needed one for this last montage here of our heroes
And a little side by side of some of the repeated shots for the ending chapter. Love when shows do this type of stuffThis isn't every shot that repeats, and there are several that are unique to either sequence, but these are my favorites that are twins
And last but certainly not leastA callback to the first collage I've made for the show way back when we started in SeptemberNadeshiko is a full fledged camper by now!
The episode one collage of the set up, for your ease of comparisonThank you for indulging meSee you all next week for the specials and heya camp collages lmao

I have been thinking today about how the Shimarin Bun makes Rin more cute, and I am wondering if it because it makes her vaguely cone-shaped which calls attention to her smallness or if there is some other factor, like how it makes her shoulders and neck more exposed by getting the hair out of the way. She looks great with her hair down (like her Shimamommy), but the Shimarin Bun does make her particularly cute putting her face lower on the head without giving her a fivehead or something. I dunno, that's what I'm thinking about.
>>291878987It's very simpleRin is cuteHer shimabun is iconicThus, her bun is cute and accents her cuteness

So here's the thingWe said before the upcoming week's watch is>heya camp>the three specials>the sarin bike advertisement OVAI just watched the second two yesterday. The three OVA's together are about the legnth of one episode. The bike ad is 12 minutes. It IS good, better than it has any right to be for an ad lmao, HOWEVER I'm thinking that it's better for it to be watched at the s2 OVAs. I'm not entirely certain when it came out, but s2 only has 2 specials. It also doesn't have a whole heya camp series, meaning in a few weeks time when we get to it, there would be a week with only 10m or so worth of yuru content. But if you move the bike ad over there, to s2 instead of s1, it's more balanced in terms of runtime.I have to start working on my screenshots today. Let me know if you guys are gonna watch the bike ad OVA this week. If so, I'll grab my screenshots and stitches and such. If not, I'll just come back to it when we finish s2 and do the s2 OVAs
>>291892098
>>291893556I told you anon. Always follow broadcast/release order and don't overcomplicate things. So it should be something like>S1 specials>Heya Camp short series + Heya Camp special (since it's only 11 min long)>S2>S2 specials>movie>S3>S3 specialsIf you search for "yuru camp release order", you'll get answer by Gemini or via the first result: https://chiaki.site/?/tools/watch_order/group_id/6881
>>291893675Or you can combine the S1 specials and Heya Camp + its specials if you're worried the threads will be too dead.
>>291893675>heya camp special... wut ...
>>291893675I see. The heya camp special IS the bike advertisement. Good, I thought I had missed something this entire time lmaoWell we are then watching in broadcast order if we do that. My point is that s2 specials will last ten minutes!Since the heya camp(bike ad) is unrelated to actual heya camp's plot, it would make sense, structurally to move it to s2. Again, I've already watched it. So if you guys want to watch it this week, I'll go ahead and do screenshots for it for the discussion
>>291889478sorry I was watching it months ago then stoppedthen picked it back up again
>>291894113...naruhodo
>>291893556Personally I'm going to watch everything in release order. So I'll be posting about anything at all that came out before season 2.
>>291894032And here I thought it was an onsen and sauna and sandwich press advertisement. There was a bike in that?

It continues. Most of my meals have been out of the new classy grandpa-sized cast iron since I got it. It's so perfect for my needs. Everything from fancy French sauces made with fond, to rustic pancetta and beans. Made steak and eggs for dinner tonight. Not quite big enough for a full steak but cube it up and it's good to go. The seasoning is really perfect now. I got rendered fats deep in those pores. The next thing's gonna be skin-on chicken thighs. Probably after that I'll try some skirt steak. Yuru Camp really has gotten me back into cast iron cooking in a big way.Back to getting /fit/ with Nadeshiko too. Lots of proteins and fats but no more potatoes and the body's feeling good and working hard. Had a pretty awesome workout today. Very motivating to know that Sakura is chasing after me with a chainsaw and I'll get some cast iron meat after I've escaped her.I WILL be a classy grandpa.

I've just finished S1 for the first time, needles to say I loved it and I want to watch more. There are the OVAs and then there's season 2, and there's also Heya camp. What should I watch first?
>>291929614Well tomorrow we're going to do a thread that'll be for the S1 OVAs, the Heya Camp series, the Heya Camp special, and a sort of season 1 review in general. The following Thursday, next week, we'll start season 2. I don't know if it'll be one episode or two of season 2. We'll probably figure that out tomorrow in the new thread.
