which youtube channels teach how to create game ready assets?
i want to learn the entire pipeline to make 3d game ready game assets/props/characters
    >>
    >>1032677
    which engine? What target platform?
    >>
    >>1032678
    any engine
i am thinking of developing nintendo-styled assets: stylized and simple
    >>
    >>1032680
Making an asset game-ready is making it fit an engine's needs. So you have to decide on an engine. Then once you know you're making stuff for engine X, it's just a matter of looking up what engine X needs.

    >>1032682
which one is preferred for stylized assets like nintendo? unity?
    >>
    >>1032677
3D is not feasible as a solo dev. do not bother.
    >>
    >>1032695
Pseudoregalia is 1 guy and Brigador is 2 guys so you could probably do it if you knew what you're doing

    >>1032677
    >Learn low poly modelling
    >Learn how to UV
    >Learn how to texture
This is where you should start i'd guess. I don't know any channels that do this but there's bound to be something
    >>
    >>1032695
oh, i don't plan to develop a game by myself right off the bat
first i want to create a good portfolio, and i love stylized characters, so i'm going to specialize in those
all i want to know is the pipeline to create those characters and what 3d fundamentals i would need to learn to create such assets
    >>1032697
    thanks for the response
    >>
    >>1032699
Did you really need someone to tell you you need to model and texture stuff to make it game ready?
    >>
    >>1032703
i'm still waiting for channel recommendations that focus on the asset creation pipeline for stylized assets, and also any tips for what i should consider when planning a portfolio, what engine i should focus on when developing stylized assets, etc (aka things i don't know)
i was just thanking the anon for their reply

You're not going to get one.
Yt tutorials are mostly.made by people who don't lnow what they're doing anyways. They learn a trick. They explain the trick. And make a slick thumbnail.
Pick the platforms you want to use and get the books published by the creators of the software.

Abbreviated and stylised game assets are not significantly easier to make than hyper detailed high resolution ones.
You still have to rig. You still have to uv unwrap. You still have to make textures and materials. All of that doesn't care about the detail level in the mesh.
    >>
crashsune tutorials r pretty good, they will get a lot of hate here but if you follow their character modelling tutorials u will understand the basics of low poly stylised modelling / UV unwrapping / texturing / rigging
    >>
    >>1032677
    N64 stylized or oddesy stylized?
    >>
    >>1032725
    3ds and above
i don't want to go super low poly
i want sufficient depth to add some details too
    >>
    >>1032715
i checked out and it's ok, i guess
they only have anime girl tutorials, so there's no variety
i'll still watch some of them
    thanks
    >>
    >>1032738
those are basically just regular models, so learn the skills to make those i guess
    >>
None of them trach the full process because it would displace them from their jobs. 3D noggers rely exclusively on gatekeeping tools and knowledge to keep it going. Only 2D artists can twach you everything because 2D requires artistic soul anyway.

realistically the best way to learn how to do low poly or low ish poly is just to go to The Models Resource and download a few models you like, then copy them directly poly by poly several times until you can create results that look similar without looking at the downloaded model's topology, at which point you can begin to iterate.
