Discussion and analysis of CAP & SNK cosplayers. Post cosplayers names if you know them. Also Event & Year of pic.
>tfw you will never see a haven trooper or Quiet cosplay God-damned be Demon slayer and those trendy stuff, I want to see big tactical butts and awesome costumes.
I was wondering if I ever make a cosplay, I firstly understand what makes it bad. Even if I dress properly, make up, good wig, I feel like it would look bad anyway. I was wondering if it is something else, like face structure or just being ugly. Also not talking about cosplays that don't match body build or those that want to look bad ironically.
hey /cgl/ this me cosplaying as my cat rupert, who is on my shoulder for reference. Does anyone else here cosplay as their pet, or have tips on how to cosplay more like a cat without looking like a furry?
Marin (and variations) and Yor were the obvious FOTM cosplays for last con season. What are your predictions for this year? My predictions: >Yor spillover from last year >a fuckton of Kobeni and Makima >Mitsuri from Demon Slayer (her arc comes out in spring) >Vash Stampede for guys
A thread for telling stories about anything and nothing - funny, roommate horror, party shenanigans, creeps, things you wished you didn't see, etc. >Be me >Walking around con floor with friend I just met the day before >He is fairly high at this point in time >Tells me he wants to try and find some bitches to bring back to the hotel room >I'm down, decide to try to be a wingman to him at the very least >He is cosplaying as Loid Forger >See thicc qt3.14 Yor cosplayer >Approach.wav "That's a really sweet Yor cosplay, my friend here has been trying to find a Yor cosplayer for a photo" >She sees him behind me >They start talking >To my surprise, he has some fair rizz >A second Yor cosplayer approaches, she seems to know the other one >He hands me his phone and asks me to take a photo with both of them >High off his ass, in between two Yor cosplayers, arms around both of them, both of them leaning into him >He must be in heaven >Unbeknownst to me at the time, his camera was on a delay for taking photos >I click the camera button on his phone, it doesn't seem to be working >I walk back with his phone to ask him what I'm doing wrong >Camera takes blurry downward photo while I'm handing it back to him "Oh dude it looks like you took a photo of our feet, hahahaha" >He finds this hilarious >Both Yors are looking at us with a mix of concern and disgust >I'm able to recontain most of the spaghetti to our pockets by showing that it was on delay mode >Take photos >Both Yors walk away afterwards NoBitchesTonight.png Anyone else fumble the bag this bad?

What was your first cosplay? >did a closet cosplay from a hotline miami mod maybe 26 people played >most work I did was dyeing a stupid hat
I've only seen one thread on this in the past, but it's getting into the peak time of year soon so why not see if there's any interest. >favorite designs/tailmakers (fin fun, mertailor, fin folk) >fabric tails vs silicone >the actual exercise component of swimming with a monofin I know there are mers on here and I'm trying to actually take the plunge and get a tail this year.
To counteract all the moids here and the overwhelming spamming of slutty girls, here's a thread dedicated to the cuties who cosplay. Emphasis on the "cute" part. Bodybuilders cosplaying just to show off their abs are just as bad as the girls who only do it for onlyfans.
Films/tv shows that are based on cosplay/con culture or at least reference it in some way. I felt that 2Kawaii4Comfort was (for better or worse) the most accurate description of going to a small con and having a bad time at it. It's a shame it ended on a cliffhanger.
Heya /cgl/! I made the decision to give cosplaying a try. I cant describe how much i enjoyed it, especially because im a very extroverted person. What do you guys think of my first cosplay? :]
Why is there such a stigma against girls who cosplay for money? As someone who has never had a girlfriend, being able to send money to cute girls who cosplay as the characters that I love is one of the only things in my life that makes me feel like I have a purpose. From patreon to onlyfans, it's on of my biggest joys and motivations in my life. One day I hope I can give money to a cosplayer at a con in real life and not just through the internet.
share images of your favourite maid cosplays, whether it be the cutest girls or the most fashionable and intricate designs.
>be non black person (not white) doing cosplay >high expectations to be accurate with correct wig for contests and photoshoots >be black >no need to use wig or accurate cosplay. it's called ethnic wigs instead
I'm too old to understand this subculture please enlighten me like how do you feel when you larp as an anime character makes you feel like
i dunno when drawthreads tapered off here but i periodically check back and there just never is one. so ill be the change I want to see in the world. post coords for me to draw, thank you. (and other artists too of course)
Sharing a hotel room at a con: Have you done it before? Where did you find people to split the room with? Were they strangers? What rules were usually in place for the convention weekend? Did any problems arise? Would you do it again?
>the year is 2017 >everyone at the con is checking their streetpasses every 30 minutes we'll never get this back, and it hurts so much
You need to learn how to vibe and talk to people at conventions. If you're underage that's one thing. If you're old enough you should budget for a hotel room so you can party and party with strangers and make new friends. The best part about conventions is meeting people and subsequently running into them at other cons in other years and it's all so fucking beautiful. It's the only time you don't have to suppress your powerlevel because guess what? They know all the dumb memes you do and have a lot of overlap in interests and other things you enjoy. You can ask someone why they're green and actually learn something about Startrek because they fucking love star trek so much they painted themselves green! SO WHEN I ASK THEM THEY ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO GUSH ABOUT THE SHIT THEY LOVE! I FUCKING LOVE NERD CONVENTION SHIT HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Years ago, when cosplay started getting popular, but also sexual, I remember being a big fan of a certain cosplayer. They turned out to be quite rude to their fans, and I was left being disappointed by it. Later as the years went by, I came upon information that her cosplay hype died down, her twitch and vtuber arc couldn't lift off the ground, and she lost her twitter verification, and just isn't popular anymore. Basically what I'm trying to say in this thread is; fuck that whore. But also how has the cosplay community/scene been? Has it gotten more slutty? Worse? Better? Are people chill, or rude? Tell me your experiences from before (5-10 years ago) v.s now.
Guys, how old is too old? Like, I am an oldfag in his mid 40s. Used to be very involved in the con scene back in the 90s and early 00s. I am currently on a very nostalgic mood about those days of yore, and planning to visit a few of the big cons to see how's the fandom nowadays. Would I be, as you youngsters say, cringe? Worse, would other congoers immediately assume I am a creepy pedophile? I don't really want to ruin some kids con experience like that. Two things, I would be attending alone because the few con buddies from back then that I still keep in contact, are too jaded and busy to give a shit. Also, I am considering if it is a good idea to go cosplaying as an old timer character.
I'm a near-complete beginner to con culture and the "scene" due to zero exposure to it until recently and I have too many questions swimming around in my head that I need to ask. I've only been to a couple of small ones in my mostly-desolate area and I want to step up to traveling to bigger ones but I'm overwhelmed. Please bear with me. >Do a majority of congoers cosplay? I know it's common, but is it seen as a faux pas to not cosplay? >Likewise, is it seen as a faux pas to wear the same cosplay more than once in a multi-day event, or to not wear it some days? >I've read a lot on this board about "after hours" events and parties that aren't scheduled by the con staff. Do you have to get invited to things like that, or how do people find out about them? >Do cons that don't have a stated sub-demographic (ones that use terms like "fandom" or "pop culture" instead of specifically "fantasy" or "otaku" or something) tend to accept all demographics? Would you be looked at weird for going to something more "western" like SDCC in an anime cosplay, or would you expect to see a lot of them? >Why do some huge cons like Colossal and Dragon seem to place such significance on getting a hotel room onsite as opposed to just being nearby? Surely not just traffic, right? >What's a "gull"? >How do you not get sick every time you go to one? >How do you keep track of scheduling for multiple cons across multiple years? Do you get notified about them? When is "con season"? >If you're partying, how do you deal with inevitable hangovers or crashes? And some more personal questions >If you cosplay, what's normally your budget? Both in terms of time and money. >How do you make friends at a con if you're not going with a group? >How many cons do you go to yearly or on a recurring basis? There are a fuckton I want to see but I'm not sure if my expectations are unreasonable. Thank you for your time.
Is it normal for people to ask for pictures and immediately leave after? Or is this another Switzerland specialty where everybody hates socializing? OR is it because I'm male? How do you even make friends at a con? I went to a convention as Chainsaw Man last October and while over 20 people asked me for a pic, nobody actually stuck around or even made an attempt at small talk. I was hoping to meet people. There's another convention coming up next month and I'm not sure if I wanna go get photographed and go back home all alone with no new contacts or friends again.
reviving bc the previous thread from a while ago got nuked what's everyone's thoughts on cosplay photography in 2024/the foreseeable future? it seems like the amount of bullshit we have to put up with as photographers in the cosplay scene only increases day by day and the cons outweigh the pros
>bf says he’ll take me to a lolita fashion store >ask if it is a sweet lolita, classic lolita or gothic lolita fashion store >he laughs and says it’s a nice store >go with bf >it’s kawaii fashion
Have you ever thought about getting plastic surgery for cosplay? If you did, were the results favorable?
I never went to these as I wasn't old enough but I've heard that conventions used to be more fun. Actual nerds going there having a good time. No social media attention whores trying to get clout Not overly woke and annoying bullshit shoved down your throat Just nerds nerdin' out
It feels pointless going to cons alone. I just went to Otakuthon yesterday and I saw tons of people, I went to panels, I had tons of nice conversations, interactions and pictures, but it hurts knowing I'll probably never see any of these people again. The only real long interaction I had was with a guy playing Go with me and some other people, but beyond that, it never moved outside of small talk and compliments. I'm still happy that I probably talked to over a 100 strangers in one day, something most people who are lonely fail to do, but being alone in a crowd truly hurts.
5 months of the old thread and not much has happened. Summer cons have been and gone and once again everything is fundamentally different. I don’t think we’ll Go back to pre lockdown glory. Ho hum. Theres a few more bits and pieces before con season is over but I cba looking them up this time.
hey /cgl/ this me cosplaying my cat rupert, hes pictured here next to me ill add another picture after so you can get a closer look
The title says it all, cosplayers that did awesome cosplay but their career were cut short, as they suddenly disappeared without any notice.
Hii first time posting on this board but I’ve seen others show their cosplays on here so I wanted to show my best picture I have. It was taken professionally by a stranger on a convention last month
I wish there was a better lolita snark site/secrets spot than 4chan now that BTB has been gone for three years. I want places to be mean about itas and share secrets without threads constantly falling apart into trans discourse.
What do you think of kids at cons? Good? Bad? Should more cons ban them, I've noticed actual porn stars at Comic Con dressed very revealing and selling their stuff there so maybe that should go 18+
>ummm whats wrong with cosplaying a character from a series you haven't watched? Unironically how do you respond without sounding mad?
/cgl/ is a board for the following: • Cosplay • Lolita • J-fashion • Conventions & gatherings • Sewing & prop-making • Craftsmanship tools/materials & tutorials • LARPing • Discussing accessories such as wigs/circle lenses/prosthetics/makeup (These must be within the context of the board-related topics listed above; weight loss threads should be kept in /fit/, beauty and fashion generals should be kept in /fa/) Our board rules are simple: • Thread content must be related to one of the categories covered in the list above. Off-topic threads and replies will be deleted. • Singling people out maliciously is not tolerated and will result in a ban. 4chan is not your personal army. The singling out rule applies to vendetta threads and replies being made to attack a specific person, as well as predatory behavior like doxing. Discussing an individual in general isn't against the rules as long as it's done within context of cosplay/lolita/j-fashion. • Advertising and spamming are not allowed. • This is a work-safe board. If you encounter a post that is in violation of these rules, USE THE REPORT BUTTON! Please help us keep the board healthy and free of off-topic posts! Old thread is capped >>10868636 This thread is for ouji and aristocrat (aka "boystyle") discussion. "Boystyle" is shorthand for "boystyle lolita" and refers to the masculine counterparts of Japanese lolita and, often, aristocrat fashions. There is a lot of overlap between these styles, and different people use different terms to describe them. We usually just use "ouji" here. >Shopping spreadsheet This is broken, now. Previous thread: >>10850236 Instead or recapping a 2 year long slow thread, allow me to recap 2 years of Dutch conventions and they're current state: >Animecon lost half their visitors, is slowly falling to irrelevancy and going through severe financial problems (again) >Tomo started to ficus more on the fairs, is now rebranding to Japanfest and already went on a "ruined reputation" speed run >Viencon has grown a lot, learned drugs are bad m'okay, and it wont be long until they can rent out the entire Center Parcs location >Abunai! is somehow still standing tall and winning by not doing anything >Nishicon is a decline, had maybe 50 visitors this year and pulled the plug >Ibaricon came onto the scene but proven itself problematic to work with >Elfia is no longer welcome at Castle De Haar >Castlefest remained comfy to this very day >Heroes Dutch Comic Con and Made In Asia are going stronger than ever >Comic Con Holland came onto the scene and is growing fast despite some backlash >Aniway, a Dutch anime magazine, ended their run after 24 years. >Nintendo is tired of there being 9001 Poké-cons using their IP and took action >Anon still didn't land a qt3.14 Leidse Cosplay GF Question of the thread: >If you had unlimited resources, what would you add to your favourite convention and why? What the fuck gives? I'm sobering up at the airport right now and looking back this just makes me more pissed off I stopped doing cons because everyone was saying "25 is too old for cosplay" and covid kinda solidified that. I don't get how he wasn't seen as a creep or divorced dad. Are women and zoomers actually this fucking stupid? Why should some faggot who is 36 get more attention than people who aren't giant faggot shitposters. He's too old right?
going to AX this year for a bit, but I wanna improve my mamimi cos. Rn im in the process of redoing the wig, but the clothes kinda bother me. Ill post some pics of the jacket, thats mainly what I wanna improve. I wanna add her little jewel thingy but I dont know how I could make it and attach it, id have to make a little pocket and I cant really sew. (beginner kinda, I started cos in 2023) also with her sailor collar, I dont know what color to dye it. I have tan dye, but I cant make out what the hell the color is in the anime. I will also paint the black stripe red. pleaseplease give me advice since it looks a little cheap, ill be posting more photos to show it. Ill post many updates as well!! :)
This is for the older con goers. How does it feel to go to cons? Do you feel out of place? What is the average age at cons do you feel, and when do you feel like you've aged out of the con scene? I'm early 30s myself and I'm starting to notice the age difference, and have been interacting with people a lot less at cons
Because why not Connichi is around the corner - September 5 to 7 in Wiesbaden. Anyone going? Tell us about your con visits, your plans for the next months, cosplay struggles and everything else! Not sure where to go next? Consult this handy site which also lists smaller local cons: https://www.jam-cons.net/con-kalender
i'm not saying every person needs to have the same accurate body as the character they are cosplaying as, call be fatphobic but seeing ugly ass fat pigs cosplay and expect compliments annoys me. I don't know how they are not disgusted of being a fat bag, and looking like a pork compared to slim or fit cosplayers.
>ITT: Dating in the hobby Seems like there is a tough barrier to work through when it comes to trying to keep your partner within the hobby. My ex hated cosplay and anime and it has done nothing but drive me to want to date cosplayers, more to help them afford better cosplays and all that, as well as just enjoy cons together and all that stuff. All the apps try and say that you can narrow down your search, or apps like Boo, but it just ends up being normies who either catfish or ghost. Is there an actual place or app to use that isn't dog shit? At the same time I've found that cosplayers generally want to be left alone at cons while they do their thing.

What are your rare, unconventional or unpopular opinions in lolita fashion? I don’t like when girls wear gold tea parties in coords that have no gold in them, I see this particularly in sweet lolita and it gives off the same vibe as when itas wear white blouses with dresses that have no white in them, it just ruins the coord. Pic unrelated.
>just over a month away >no thread Seriously what happened? I heard some BS happened last year but it wasn't bad enough to wipe discussion off the board was it? Just got my room filled and looking forward to it.
Texas thread died about a week ago or so... RIP, not OP of the previous Texas thread but the anon that had revived it briefly in October. Meant to revive it again this month in-time for it to reach 1-year-plus status, but had totally slipped my mind and was already too late by the time I had noticed... oh well, let's try this 1-year challenge all over again, shall we? She is low tier compared to some chineses and japaneses. But when compared to americans she is pretty good. Most of the female americans are fat and ugly.
>Late 20s cosplayer who was active pre pandemic and did fanservice cosplays >Pre Pandemic, most cosplay girls(even the ero ones) where definitely nerds, hot girls who found an outlet and overall it felt more authentic >2025? I go to a con and the popular or attractive girls are either failed models, athletes, fitness addicts who are trying to make it big in the cosplay and anime world by being an influencer
have you ever found the pics of you cosplaying that you posted online or that somebody else took posted on a pornographic site?
I saw this amazing Zelda cosplayer on Instagram but I noticed she doesnt seem to be wearing any underwear or anything and she's at a con. Is she secretly wearing something underneath?

hihihi /cgl/, just here to get some thoughts down ^-^ im waiting for a haruhi cosplay to arrive, but im kinda worried i wont look as cute as the other cosplayers i see on tiktok and elsewhere on the net. im sure this is a common thought, but its a big one nonetheless. i guess it sorta leans into my sense of imposter syndrome - i dont think confidence suits me at all. i think that the second someone looks at me in cosplay theyll know im faking something. when it all arrives i may post some pics here so yall can lmk what u think ^p^ any thoughts or similar experiences ?
( posted on b yesterday ) my asuka cosplay arrived ! so did my haruhi cosplay, but its too small and the seller is refusing to accept an exchange >:I guess itll do for photos and videos but i dont think i can wear it to cons
Meta thread. Let's discuss what the fuck has been happening to and within the culture of EGL. Some questions and thoughts that have been on my mind below, reply if you want or bring up your own ideas to discuss. -Why is ita mostly dying as an insult? Are we not using it enough, or is it past it's time? -Brand whore as a concept nearly disappearing in the west -gooning and its effects on our psychology, how it has stopped many of us from posting publicly -Ero is back, and becoming popular, but why? Male infiltration, or are we finally reclaiming ero as a community? -is Lolita even a community anymore? -is the jirai culture online our fault? -Why do you think EGL as a whole has moved away from cgl? -is the time of the Lolita influencer over?
I want to cosplay as Chainsaw Man, which costume do you recommend? My friends say I look cute and should give it a try idk

A member of our con staff got arrested at the con, and still nobody knows why. He was walked out yelling "That was YEARS ago!" In happier news, I was in the hospital with appendicitis and my bf came to visit me dressed as Shinji Ikari. The nurse with Tokyo Mewmew tatts thought it was hilarious.

i havent been here regularly in years but when i do come back i cant find the ita threads. that was like the whole reason i showed up. did you people suddenly learn social tact while i was gone. what the fuck man
Ive been into anime and japanese culture my entire life and ive only recently been interested in cons and making cosplays. Looking more into them, ive found out that its been heavily bastardized and a shell of its former self… or so ive been told. That begs the question, are they even worth going to?
Who’s going? Who’s excited? Cosplay lineups. This is my 4th year going solo so I hope to be able to organize a meetup this year or something. This con has otherwise been enjoyable every year. September 3rd - September 6th, Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus Ohio.
Hello, I've been into lolita for a while and I've been wanting to actually participate now. The only concern I have is that I am a guy and don't want to bring shame or embarrassment to myself or others. I'm not trans or anything like that, I just enjoy the culture and such. I enjoy egl the most, so I'd focus there. It's not like I'm a stranger to j-fashion, I wear mode/karasu zoku, which already focuses on androgyny. Is this a good idea, or should I save myself and those in the comm from my karmic actions out of respect? Yes, Mana is a man, but that's different and I'm not him.
2 cons back to back! >Who are you cosplaying as? >What days are you going? >Who/What are you most excited to see? >Ready to have 3 days of nonstop fun?
What is the most ass backwards advice you've ever seen someone give a new or inexperienced Lolita? From encouraging buying on SHEIN to suggesting Argyle with a pin striped JSK and good ol' defending replicas, let's hear it'
Why won't yall stop complaining about /cgl/ being dead and do something about it instead? I mean... the amount of people who clearly miss how it used to be would probably be enough to make it at least a little better. Make more threads, interact in the existing ones, idk, just try to make it happen. (And I'm not even hating, I just really want this to change as well)
It's been quite a while since the gulls have participated in the 4cc, but I am hoping to bring a change to that and revive the team once more. It could be possible to play in Autumn already! >What is this? The 4cc is basically a 4chan wide football tournament where every board has a team of players related to their board that then compete to see who is the best >What are you doing? I have went through the old lineups of the /cgl/ team and salvaging what is still relatable to form a 23 player team. I have also been busy working on aesthetics to bring the team to the best they have ever looked, not just pngheads, but actual full models >Why should I care? Each team should represent the board and its users, so suggestions for players, music, aesthetics and anything else are very important for accurately representing the board >Ok and? The most important thing is the board showing willingness in actually wanting to see the team play, so showing any interest in it is valuable, even if it's just a reply.
This con is comparable to the Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King, the film that swept the Oscars, in terms of Canadian cons. The Kimi no na Wa. The End of Evangelion. Who's going?
do you think if i popped into the next largest anime con as ciel phantomhive with my 6 ft 3 white boyfriend as sebastian with an australian accent the women would go crazy over it
Why post pictures if you're gonna pose and edit in a way where we can see literally nothing? You look like an unshapely pastel blob.
So I've already cosplayed as simple shit, and I think the most "produced" cosplay I ever made was a berdly one (I used a cyan full body and some clothes I had, and made a beak out of paper) The thing is, I want to start making better cosplays, but I have 0 skills with sewing, or foam modeling/sculpting
I met someone on discord who volunteered for Tekko Con. They suggested I go. I figured I needed to make some friends and try something new. I had wanted to get into cosplay for awhile but was too shy. I DIYed a cute espeon cosplay and got a lot of compliments. But I found it difficult to talk to anyone. When I would try to start a conversation, they'd either ignore me or would just talk briefly and be like "uh I gotta go" I work in sales for a living so I'm pretty good socially. Everyone was pretty nice overall but I was disappointed I didn't make any friends. What should I do in the future? I enjoy cosplaying and would like to try it some more
I thought about starting cosplaying with things i have home does anyone have ideas of a character who would look cool on me?
Like all things, normies ruin it. Back then people would go there because they actually loved animanga/comics. They would try their hardest to find passable costumes and make their own accessories, and even if it didn't look good, you would know they they put a lot of heart into it. They were quirky and fun and really played into the character they was cosplaying. They used to join in community activates, dance, really be an otaku, just watch anime together, etc, etc. And even if they were really shy (which they mostly were), they would still be there, for the love of medium Now. The people going there were (would be) the same people mocking/bullying you for liking it. The people going there have only watched 2 anime and larped the rest. The people going there are the same obnoxious normies you would come there to get away from. The cosplays now are just an excuse to dress like a whore and a slut, they would purposely chose the outfits which are the most reviling, showing off 80% of their bodies and having their ass out. I fucking hate them, they ruin literally everting. All they want to do is go there to slut out, larp being some sort of weird kid and to get vain attention. (like i get their was whores back then but now every single one is one) I fucking hate them

sup 4 chan does dressing up as a cat girl count as cosplay??? i've been having a disscussion about that with friends and decided to simply ask the internet (﹏) lets hope i dont regret posting my face to 4 chan
I have never had sex in my whole life. Would a cosplaying femanon meet up with me and have sex? Preferably a cute anime cosplay.
Don't know if its better to ask you all or the /k/ommandos since this is some sort of holster? I've found exact matches for everything except for what's under his coat. Some sort of bag that goes under one shoulder without any straps across the chest, maybe theres stuff hidden behind the coat? No idea, please help me cosplay Gods.
I've been wanting a plague doctor hat for a few years now and with the plague spreading in Russia this seems like the perfect time to obtain one. Only problem is it looks like I'm going to have to make it myself. Does anyone know where I can obtain a pattern and materials (genuine leather, black and shiny surface, preferably medium-flexible for the top, should I use stiff for the rim?) and some coherent instructions on how to cut one out and piece it all together? I want real actual leather, not plastic garbage. Amazon has nothing but cheap shitty "PU leather" aka fake polyurethane crap that will start flaking off and looking like crap within a few weeks. Etsy is now a mix of Chineseum crap and holy shit look at that pricetag stuff. Like, $250 for a leather hat, $450 for a costume. I get that quality costs but I don't want to shell out that much for a hat. Thanks.
Requesting for any pictures of this Moitie being worn. Does this dress still exist on the face of the Earth?
ANIME FRONTIER IN TWO MONTHS: The last few Texas events have been lurk slop I want to see coordinated meetups of some kind lets get some life into this board and more importantly in the Texas con sphere.
Nothing special.. just dropping a photo to say hi ꒰ꈍᐜꈍ꒱ How have you guys been? Who do you guys think I should cosplay? :>
Halloween weekend con! >Who are you cosplaying as? >What days are you going? >Who/What are you most excited to see? >Are you getting any tattoos? >If yes, what?
What are some newbie questions that you are absolutely sick and tired of hearing? From "Where can I buy" to "why so expensive"
I've been interested in these uncanny masks and have some questions what to look for when buying one? anything specific to avoid? can you dance wearing one? (assuming it has a fan) can you use a normal wig or do they need a special one? can you swap the eyes?
A while ago I cosplayed as Saya, but none of my friends know her, so I decided to post it here I know it's not one of the best, but it was fun to use (I made the "ears" in a hurry for a party)
Now that the dust has settled, do you think participating in j fashion was net positive in your life?
I have a black bodysuit and a 3d printer. Any ideas about what I can be for a family Halloween party?
Geheimnisnacht soon, edition General LARP/HEMA/SCA/Battlegame thread. Ask questions, post your latest projects, share photos, you know the drill. Thread question: what are your Halloween related plans, events, and costumes this year? Pic related: finished a hat for my new character. After the mercenary Ernst Schalger got killed by Skaven last year's Geheimnisnacht in Wilhelmsburgh, the warband is helping bolster their numbers with a freshly trained witch hunter apprentice, who's name is not yet known...
Why are the current crop of cosplayers that attend conventions genuinely fucking insane? I haven't been in a few years and the people I have been meeting are just absolutely bonkers. Not even close to the kinds of people that were attending conventions 10+ years ago. It's like this new crowd is wearing the skin of my people and anything beyond surface level fandom discussion is like I am talking to an actual alien. I don't know how they even manage to function with the sheer force of counterintuitive doublethink induced tension going on in their heads. I mentioned Girls und Panzer: >omg umm lolicons are pedophiles?? I mentioned High School of the Dead: >omg she's literally 17 years old and 364 days old you freak These aren't even old anime, and I have never ever considered them "problematic" (you are a humongous faggot if you use this word, by the way) ((and I'm not even going to mention the amount of inter-group drama and "cancellations" that occur between these people; I recently watched someone get kicked out of a group for "grooming" and it was a 19 year old dating a 17 year old. Actual, genuine psychosis of groupthink where everybody had to pick sides and bullied everyone else into kicking the """pedophile groomer""" out. This is a specific example, but applies in every case where someone fails a vague "vibe check" that gives someone with a loud enough voice and influence carte blanche to freely kick whomever they choose out based on literally nothing; or """vibes""" which is a meaningless nothing word.) It's not like I'm shouting OOOH I LOVE CUNNY THIS LOLI BRAT NEEDS CORRECTION OOOUGHH but I may as well be doing just that based on the way these, again, utterly insane new generation cosplayers think. They are faggots, and I mean that in the most despicable way possible.
bro i just want to cosplay something cute and that "looks" like me for halloween, last friday i went to a party and i did a misa cosplay lmao, but i have another party and i don't know what to cosplay, im blonde btw, what do yall recommend?
I recently started cosplaying and I don't understand how other cosplayers get sponsors. I haven't found a job yet because companies don't want to hire someone with a disability. Pls give me some recommendations.
Hello, fellow /seagulls/. I haven't been here for a while but I have a question to ask you. I am currently working on a long term tech project of building a small, relatively autonomous Star Wars MSE-6 droid to roll around in at conventions. I have plans to have it be responsive and reactive through a small AI accelerator, and to do that I want to put a little camera on it to be its window to the world. Nothing is directly recorded or saved, it's sent to an image-to-text transcriber, and then *that* result is fed to the AI to react to. Nothing from either video or transcription is stored long term, as it would take up a lot of data anyway. It's using the transcriptions purely to respond to the world in a closed, local system (It won't be able to connect to Wifi). I'm thinking I could put a small note on it saying that it is recording for the purpose of interactions but that nothing is saved or stored, only the droid's responses to said thing. 1) Is that just far enough in the grey area for me to be okay with just asking convention runners if it's ok to bring in? Or is that more likely going to be flat out banned the way Meta glasses were? 2) Would you want to interact with it? Would the anti-AI folks hate this sort of thing and try to destroy it?
I've been cosplaying since 2017 in more than one fandom, and in all of them, i've found immature people of all ages and backgrounds. In my experience, all the usual dramas of cosplay come from a warped sense of entitlement, or lack of enough social skills to cope with said subject without causing negativity to others. Although if more people were sexually mature / sexually active with more common sense, half of the issues would be solves. I've seen so many cases of people being jealous of another and adopting defamation/cancelling campaigns against them based on jealousy. For me, the only way is of social exclusion. Those who are really toxic and engage in behaviors that bother others and cause disruption amongst groups, we should all exclude. In conventions, closing physical circles on them, barely looking at them, turning their back on them. This naturally sends a message that the person is not welcome and at some point they fuck off. It's dirty, but since there's no "reputation bureau" like a credit bureau, this is the only option since very unfortunately you can't ban people 'just' for being bothersome and divisive/toxic. So i'd like to hear from you: How to effectively make cosplaying a better activity?
#cosplay #uniform #joke How wear to either earlier 19th century or later Victorian soldier by disguising yourself as harmless non imperial and colonial militant: Bellhop, Marching band, Nutcracker and Royal guard without offending anyone and being targeted witch hunt harassment and assaults by vigilante hauxist/sanctimonious.
And he did twitter porn too. Filmed himself fucking in public while dressed as his two shitty superhero OCs “Flaris” and “Shadow” https://www.kezi.com/news/man-who-dressed-like-a-superhero-sentenced-for-sex-crimes/article_a58b6c42-7f64-11ef-a1d8-03f2c6349f40.html
Any cosplay con controversies in your country? >Major cosplay and anime con in my country benefitted from being free and a cheaper alternative (if they have an entrance fee) to major cosplay cons to the public and for local idols and merchants who make and sell anime merch. >They organize 1 to 2 anime cons almost every month. >In these last few months, one of their major cons kept being canceled at the last minute(by the organizers themselves and not the chosen venue owners), angering everyone including the local idols and guests. >After that, the online sites of the con goes dead and many rumors and complaints appear, where the idols and local merchants complain the cons has not paid and given them refunds, their single cafe and merchandise store in a single mall shut down only after a year and the head organizer being in deep debt and has now fled the country as a result.
